The College

Basudev Godabari Degree College ,Kesaibahal previously known as Devisweta Padma Degree College had its humble beginning at Kesaibahal in the session 1997-98 realise the dream of the people of this locality by imparting higher education of high standard .Thereafter the institution is not looking back, touching the milestones of success with the best wishes and cooperation of the people of locality .

Academic

The College has been affiliated to Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar Burla, a premier University of Western Odisha. Curriculum and Syllabus followed is CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) as per the guidelines of UGC. CBCS Semester system always keeps students busy, active and energetic through the year. Academic Calendar prepared by Department of Higher Education Odisha is being implemented. Seminars, Group discussion, Essay, debate, Quiz Competitions are conducted to develop the overall personality of the student. Highly qualified and experienced teachers’ direct guidance and quality teaching model the student moral high and confident for examination and for life.

Stream , Subject ,Elective offered by Collage

The collage has both the arts and science stream in the degree level and science stream in the degree level and science the stand alone collage in the whole bamra block . The honours subject offered numbers of seats

English and odia along with environmental studies are the compulsory subjects are thought as per syllabus of CBCS under Semester system. Semester examination conduct by university last knowledge of students .Diploma certificate are awarded after successfully implication of all examination of three years.

CO-CORRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The college is well aware of the fact that overall personality along with education plays a vital role in shaping the college and life of the students. Life skill in addition to textual education is the need of the how. Sports, game, song, dance, drama are other extracurricular activates which are carried out provides a sense of entertainment enjoyment of relief amidst busy academy activities revitalizing them for next course of action.

NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS) instills sense of social duty and service among the students. The collage has both the boys and girls unit . Sribinod bihiri pruseth , lecturer in zoology as the programme office of boys unit .Also due to this excellent leadership quality . He has been appointed the district co-odinary of NSS by sambalpur university . Mrs Anjali Patel acts as the programme offices of girls unit . Every year each and every activity is observed by the units . In the year 2012-13 the collage has successfuly organised the inter college NSS camp is Which 200 participated from across odisha.

YRC

Youth Red Cross (YRC) is the stand-alone Voluntary service Organization which has its impact everywhere around the world. YRC unit of the College headed by Sri Manoj Kumar Patel, Lecture in Physics, activizes the students with full enthusiasm sense of social service and responsibility thereby transforming them into dedicated ready to serve volunteers. Annual observances like National Youth day, YRC day, Yoga day, Gandhi Jayanti , Aids day and so on so forth are observed every year. Blood donation Camp and Vana Mahotsav Programmes are conducted without fail. In the year 2017 the District level YRC Volunteer Cum-Counselor training Camp of Sambalpur district was organized by the College with note of success at the end.

Library

Books one the mines of Knowledge’s when is aptly proved by Dr Kalam when he says “ one best book is equal to hundred goods friends, One good friend is equal to a library”. An enriched library having a collection of large numbers of books nerely 4000 with varying pedagogic range like text books,Referance books, encydopedias ,dictionarics, novels, and other books of different kinless reading rooms gives an open space and positive ambiance for scholastic exercise. Books are regularly issued to students especially to poor who cannot afford to buy.

Results

Student’s perseverance and teachers dedication with motivation are key elements for good results. Since its inception the College has always been able to spark out brilliantly when the results are declared. The results of last three years are in Arts 55% , in 2015, 41% in 2016 and 50% in 2017. The results of last three years are in Science 84% , in 2015, 71% in 2016 and 78% in 2017.

Students like this Gulapali Kalo, Miss Preeti Podh participated in various universities; state and national level sports events. Students like Sujaya Rana, Mohit Chand took part in state, national level camp, adventure camp conducted by NSS, YRC.

Career & Service

Many students after successfully passed out of the College have well placed in different Government, Private and Public sector Organization. Numbers in the list are many, but worthy to mention few for instances are Pankaj Kumar Ray in TCS, Basanti Dudum as Forester. Career counseling session opens up the various horizon of different careers for “Sky is the limit” says Kalam delegates from different fields enlighten students about possible career prospects.

Conclusion: but the expansion of new horizon

This though obviously be the conclusion of this brief biodata of college, yet if does absolutely anticipate the expansion of its horizon ,phycial and educational to provide students ,people of the locality with an institution of world class standard coping with rapid transforming modern era. The college is trying to gain various grants from UGC ,government and other sources for this.

As most of the students are from economically disadvantaged and also ST,SC, OBC classes this project of women’s hostel would surely prove to be a bliss in real sense. Active energetic some being experienced other being young teaching faculties and Staff dedicate their heart, mind, lime and hard work to shaping this institute a progressive and position all the time.
